Tonight I played my first ever public concert all by myself!
Just me and a wonderful Steinway piano in a beautiful church.

That's a pretty cool setting for a debut if you ask me!

I am working on an album for solo piano, and this was a great opportunity to play some of the pieces from the album.

I was extremely delighted when I realized that more than 200 people showed up for the concert, creating a wonderful atmosphere!
It really was an amazing audience, and I owe everyone who came a big THANK YOU!!

For the encore I was joined by Josefine Dalsgaard on violin, and we performed the Waltz from 'Images of Winter'. Josefine was a surprise, and played the part from the organ-balcony at the back of the church. It worked really well, and I could feel the audience being delighted by the sudden appearance of her!

I really think I'll do more solo-piano concerts in 2026, as my music seem to work well for the format.

I really couldn't be happier with tonight!
If any of you came, and took photos, please share them 🙂

Here a a couple of photos from the venue and the setlist:

Some things are more fun than other things.. Making music is usually quite fun, and recording with wonderful musicians is always a blast.
But recording with a symphony orchestra is a rare treat that always does something special. It's quite hands off in a way, since you can't talk to 60+ musicians individually, but does so through the score and the conductor.

I'm so extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to write the complete score for an upcoming ballet called 'Madigan', based on the true story of circus princess Elvira Madigan and Swedish officer Sixten Sparre.
Their story is as famous as it is tragic, and new light has been shed on their journey, shedding new light on their story, which was not at all as romantic as was once thought.

The ballet does not premiere until 2029, but we are already releasing one piece of music from it, to coincide with a new Madigan Exhibition that opens in Denmark on July 4th.
The piece is called 'Dreams' (DK: 'Drømme), and will be released on streaming platforms on the same day.
But if you are a subscriber here on Sleeve, you get early access to the piece, and I would love your feedback, as I am very proud of it.
See it as a teaser for our upcoming project.

Do let me know what you think

Release

This is the first track from our upcoming ballet 'Madigan'. It is called 'Dreams' ('Drømme' in Danish) and is a teaser for our very ambitious project. Do let me know what you think! Available to all from July 4th. Available for 'Backstage Pass' and 'All Access' tiers now

Hi all.
I've been working on a solo piano album for quite a while now. And since my upcoming album "The Troll and the Moon" is not happening until early next year (fingers crossed for funding!!) I'd love to get cracking on my piano album.

The idea is to release it as 4 differently themed EP's, with 4 tracks on each.
And since we live in the era of streaming (for better or worse), I will release on track at at time, ending up with 16 tracks on 4 EP's.
Finally, I will release everything as an album..

Will it work? Maybe.. will I get millions of streams?? Maybe... but probably not 😄
But it's worth a shot.

I will make all EP's available for you guys here at Sleeve, so you can listen to everything and don't have to wait for each new track to drop.

But I do need your feedback on my idea for the 4 covers.
I've been quite fascinated by string art for a while, and really think it's quite beautiful.

So I've created the covers based on that, and would deeply appreciate your feedback.
They are different, but obviously connected, and the semi-circle in the corner will become an entire circle once the 4 covers are merged for the final album.

So do let me know what you think. Your help is greatly appreciated 🙂
Thanks,
Jesper

Release

The first release of some of my classical piano pieces. A larger piece "Fantasie no. 1" and a series of smaller pieces "5 Short Piano Pieces". All beautifully played by Cæcilie Grønkjær Tagmose.

One of the questions I love the most is: "Is your music available as sheet music?"!
Who wouldn't love the thought of someone else actually wanting to play your music!?!

I never get tired of it, and after my concert af couple of weeks ago, I've had quite a few requests.
So I'll be sharing quite a lot of sheet music in the coming months.
Some will be for followers, and some for members.

So get your piano ready! :)

Release

A couple of days before I released my album 'Images of Winter', Russia invaded Ukraine.. I felt guilty celebrating my release when this horrible war was taking place.. Many of us contributed to concert in aid of Ukraine, and this piece came to be shortly after. The piece has two parts; The first is dedicated to the brave men and women who - all of a sudden - are forced to fight for the survival of both themselves, but also their country. The second part is for those who are still at home, wondering if they'll ever see their loved ones again. I dedicate this piece to all of you! Sheet music will be available for members of the 'All Access' and 'Backstage Pass' tiers from February 1st 2025.
